I love reading books, long time back when I first moved to Portland, OR and commuted to work on the light rail I would read about a book per week. I really loved that part of my daily commute just sitting and reading while the world passed behind the train windows. Now 13 years later I still read but my daily routine only allows me to read for about 20 minutes before I fall asleep, as a result I barely finish a book every month or two. Most recently I had finished Lost City Radio by Daniel Alarcón a novel about a ten year civil war and insurrection squashed by a totalitarian government. Really enjoyed the plot and the characters. And the story feels very current even though the book was written twenty years ago and is set in a fictional unnamed country. Once I'm done with a book I tend to immediately look for the next one to start, back in the days of living in Portland I loved to visit Powell's Books in downtown Portland, walk among the aisles with myriad different choices.
