A while back, a reader asked me what my favourite/strangest type of disc was. It is a tough question to answer, but at the time, my response would be the nearly-extinct black (substrate) CD-Rs which were made to look like they were authentic Playstation game console discs. Then, long-time donor to the blog Pepst surprised me with the artsy Photo CD-R which was very unique, offering the equivalent storage of an 8cm CD but with the outer area turned into a sort of “art” like a pressed-version of a Disc T@2. However, that was not all – Pepst decided to do one better and told me that I’d have something interesting and different to look forward to in a shipment headed my way. What I saw was definitely new to me … at least, in recordable form. The Disc I was fortunate to receive quite a few samples of this particular disc, but one look at it and you can immediately tell that this is not your garden-variety CD-R.
