It's been 4 months since I've made a break with Trek. Heck, it's final time to return! This marks it the first episode I've seen in my post-smartphone era, and it shows. We start with most of the Borg-children leaving the crew. It's the second episode, so I guess authors had bigger plans which never came to fruition? Seems so. Naomi is also severely underutilized. A few minutes in and we've got only one left - Icheb. And Icheb has plans to become a certified star fleet officer, something Seven never did. Soon after, Seven's cortical node starts breaking and she may die I've seen Picard and I knew that she will live, but it was still gripping. Icheb becoming more and more ambitious could make sense - if she is no longer part of the crew, he may take her place. The show did not go in that direction.
