I just made my first Atmosphere/ATProto/Bluesky app! In order to help bring more people into the fediverse, of course. The app itself is pretty simple. After you put in your Atmosphere username, a list of the accounts you follow will be fetched and parsed for what might be fediverse usernames and profile links. Now, figuring out what is a fediverse username is tricky, as there are over 40 thousand servers. Here’s how I’m approaching this. First, I downloaded a list of known servers from fedilist.com. Next, I keep a list of domains that are likely to show up in people’s bios that are not fediverse servers, for exclusion. And anything that’s not on either of the two lists will be marked with a question mark to signal that this may not be an actual fediverse account. Additionally, you will be able to download a CSV file with the found usernames for an easy import on Mastodon and other fediverse platforms that support this format, and you can also put in your home server to open all links…
