Sunday Zine Club #21’s theme was splash. I decided to gather my pictures of children playing in the rain and use them to tell a little story. I’m still getting used to using a fude style fountain pen but I am enjoying the results. I’ve used brush pens quite a bit but have always applied too much pressure to actually enjoy a fountain pen until now, the tip of the fude nib is at an angle to the rest of the pen that allows it to glide smoothly and gives the line a lot of variance. The lines are mostly showing up as chunky right now while I get the hang of it but it still really helps when capturing movement. There are three things that I’ve learned while drawing children: Their ears are much lower on their faces than you think. Their legs are never where you think they are. They are never still.
