I've been stretching my legs actually playing D&D oneshots and have been using various DMs's pregen character sheets because I'm happy just trying things and figuring them out. However. My friend has decided we need an all-bard troupe. I've not played a bard and we don't have one in the game I DM. I know nothing. So I went looking for some ideas. And it's all just the same? The most optimal builds. It's only a oneshot so it's not like there's much of my own flavour I can add. The stats are most of what I have to go on. Also we're level three so not much specialising. And I want ideas. I did search "weird bard builds" or something similar. Which was fun, but limited, and better over a longer run of games. I've never been into minmaxing. Other people love optimising and I love that for them! Crunch those numbers! I think I'm more into that 'figuring things out from what I've got' vibe right now.
