I’m something like 40 pages away from the end of THE GREAT DIVIDE, but I felt like taking a break (it is still a lovely book with characters I care about, but there are a couple of beautifully-written useless men who annoy me). I was starting to scroll social media during the break, when I realized my time would be better spent here. I actually watched a movie last night, The Roses, which I thought had mostly fantastic acting from Colman and Cumberbatch. Caught up a bit with Abbott Elementary, too. Point being, I watched some TV, something of a rare enough occurrence. I suppose I felt more relaxed, more free. And then tonight was another meeting about our upcoming books, and I realized I hadn’t read a lot of them yet, where I used to read maybe at least 2 per division. Thought it was strange because I know I’ve been reading a lot. Maybe just not the upcoming manuscripts. Hence another reason, I feel, why I should go back to just reading as much as I can.
