I just made an instrumental rendition of Teresa Teng's 何日君再來. Planning to make more small instrumentals like these. Nothing grand. Just small things and put it together as a free download album. v. smol win: I'm starting to get small payouts for my music. Small as in, don't-quit-your-day-job small -- but real. Mostly from plays through animations made by my friend. Watched Project Hail Mary recently. Still thinking about it. Want to watch it again with my daughter if she agrees. Also watched Un poeta -- quiet, decent. New streaming setup I'm happy with: bought 1TB storage box from Hostbrr (16.50 USD/year), mounted it to a small server running qBittorrent. Downloads go there. For watching, Jellyfin runs on a slightly better server -- same mounted disk. I split them because VPS providers can close your account anytime (if they know you're sailing the high seas).
