Back to back morning posts, lucky us. I was looking at a post from back in February where I mused about EVs and how a 15A 120V wouldn't be enough even with the limited amount I drive. So I was entirely wrong. I traded the Forester for a same model year Volvo XC40 Recharge, and having an EV is just so pleasant. Yes, it takes forever (~2.5 days) to charge 80% (from 10%) but I have also never had to do that. The day after I bought it, we had a trip down to Colorado Springs and back, when I hit the nearby DCFC because we had a trip to Fort Collins the next day. After which, I just plugged in at home and it took about a day to charge from like, 39% back to either 80 or 90%. I work from home, do a ~150 mile trip maybe once a month, and longer road trips maybe a few times a year. Hiking and "getting out there" aren't of the same importance they were to me a few years back, and the XC40 is more than capable - certainly more so than the GTI or possibly even the Alltrack, obviously less so than…
