Recalibrating my reading for thinking

I’ve been noticing, over the past month or two, that I’m not interested in much coming through on my feed reader. The discourse is exhausting. I’m tired of reading about genAI. (I’m tired of writing about genAI.) More writers I follow are incorporating genAI into their process*, which I generally suspect to be a mistake (I suppose it’s possible I’ll get left behind intellectually but the practice of thinking is the whole point for me since I don’t get paid for this blog 🤷‍♀️). I’ve been writing less, and based on my feed reader it seems others are too. *(I notice that genAI is often taking the place of an editor in nonprofessional — and some freelance — writers’ processes. If you’ve been wanting an editor, I invite you to send your draft to me instead of asking a chatbot. I will be extremely pissed if you send me genAI slop — my offer is to help *you* develop your writing skills.) I feel like everyone online (and I’m including myself here) has taken a bit of an intellectual beating…
