Aurene's Lament

What does it mean to be an Elder Dragon? When one thinks of it without knowing where the term came from, they might assume it’s just an old dragon because the word “elder” is there. I suppose it can be true, but the way humans describe “old” is considered “young” to me. I am Aurene. I am an Elder Dragon. My job is to protect. My purpose is to watch over those who cannot watch themselves. As a dragon of prismatic light, I aim to shine my scales bright and illuminate myself that the fears and anxieties of those around me would dispel. I can hear the worries of my fellow systemmates. I can sense their fears, and can even foresee when one will have a breakdown. It pains me to have these kinds of visions, but that is the burden an Elder Dragon must carry. Sometimes, I miss my mother dearly. I wonder what my life would’ve been like if I was raised by my mother and not by the asura. Of course, I am eternally grateful to be taken in their hands.
