Walking in the Lakes. Walking in the Lanes. Spring flowers. Forty Acres from Thistly Field Drove down to Langdale on Tuesday to walk the Langdale Pikes: Loft Crag (682m), Pike of Stickle (709m) and Harrison Stickle (736m). We had cloud on the way up, rain on the way down. Me, Harrison Stickle Stayed at Val’s climbing club hut that night – got the coal fire going and tucked into a lot of flapjack with two pots of tea before going through trip details for Peru (S) and Nepal (me), accompanied by a glass or two of wine. Then stir fry à la Val for dinner. Cloudy and damp on Wednesday so we ditched any thoughts of a walk in favour of heading home. Heavy rain on the M5, thunder and lightning and heavy rain all the way up the Wye valley – very exciting!!! Had a stop at Lidl Monmouth to recover Home to Phil and Pips, tea and a scone and hanging everything up to dry out from Tuesday’s soaking. Back to the gym on Thursday for LBT and my first PT in weeks. All good. Home via the GP to try to sort…
