Another chance to test the rented XF 150-600mm lens at the Sacramento National Wildlife Refuge. This time my wife was able to join and we had a nice time taking a very slow lap around the auto tour. One highlight for me was seeing an American Bittern (above) for the first time. I also saw another favorite, a Black Phoebe (below). But, the biggest highlight is also the current talk of the SNWR... Eaglets! The past few times I was at the SNWR I "skipped" trying to jockey for position amongst the other visitors to try to get a glimpse of the eagle nest. I knew I would make a trip back and that there would be other chances. Today it paid off, and my wife was there to see them with me, so a very nice way to end the auto tour loop together. We had a nice lunch at Granzellas on the way home. I haven't yet decided on whether to buy the lens and don't suspect I'll be making a decision soon.
