I’d rather see a good thinking system than a collection of plain text. If your Evernote or Apple Notes helps you gather your thoughts: good! Keep doing what you are doing. If your collection didn’t help you explore ideas, it doesn’t matter that it is still readable in 2087. Use plain text to avoid companies becoming gatekeepers of your notes. No need to request exports once the service stops or start charging money for access. That being said, plain text is too restrictive.
