This is a gross thing to admit, but up until recently, I was never someone who brushed my teeth regularly. I probably only still have teeth due to having really good teeth genes. There were years of my life that I couldn’t tell you how recently I’d brushed my teeth, and I’m sure it didn’t do me any favors when socializing. It wasn’t that I wanted bad breath or to risk mouth issues. It was just that brushing my teeth was so unpleasant that I could barely stand it. It would always start out fine, but the more I spread the toothpaste around, the more my whole mouth tingled. And the worst was when I wasn’t done brushing, but the foam from the used toothpaste pooling at the bottom of my mouth felt like if peanut butter was trying to exfoliate everything it touched. It felt like it was scrubbing me raw all on it’s own. I’d usually have to spit it out in the middle of brushing my teeth before continuing on with the rest of the job.
