sewing projects - cropping tees

I’m in middle of chores/cleaning since I’ll be out of town for FFXIV’s Fan Fest in Anaheim. I also made stickers of our characters and will recap that later... Of course, I wanted to make a last minute DIY (cropping a button down I had thrifted at the same time I made my tamagotchi shirt) - a varsity inspired crop with my WoL’s (Warrior of Light) name: Fennel. I made a digital mockup of my idea (for scale only). I went to our creative reuse center to pick up some fabric swatches (each about $1 or $2) - I hadn’t decided on the colors yet but was thinking of mixing and matching a couple of red/brown patterns. I got back to work with cropping the button down (after deciding placement). I also discovered there is a tear on the fabric by the shoulder so I’ll need to patch that. Printed out my text to check scale. I also thought about adding a pink border but it wasn’t working how I liked so then I just cut them down.
