City Of London Council Officers & Lady Mayor Unlawfully Reject A Motion On The Golden Lane Leisure Centre & Scandalise Democracy
We have previously reported on the sudden closure of the Golden Lane Leisure Centre (“GLLC”) by the City Council, which triggered a backlash among the residents who had been using it,which in turn quickly turned into a resident-led campaign (the “Campaign”) to reopen the GLLC and for residents to be involved in the design of its eventual scheduled refurbishment. The Campaign promoted a petition which, at the time of writing, has gathered 2,603 signatures and organised a march to the Guildhall and a protest outside it before the full Council meeting on 23/4/26.
