Back in 2021 I very much enjoyed my first experience of Rutledge’s work, Blood on the Cat (1946) and it was pleasing to see American Mystery Classics reprint it last year. Curiously, Penguin Books will be reprinting it this summer, adopting the same cover art as AMC. Penguin are going to be reprinting a few of the books available in the AMC series, which seems a bit strange. If one edition is easily available, where is the value in releasing a further edition?
