This is just a quick one to say that I've created an archive of 20 years of my writing at the boringly-but-effectively-titled location of archive.dougbelshaw.comIt's a static site served separately from my regular hosting setup. That means if any of my sites are down, including this one, you'll be able to find my work on the archive site. There were three stimuli for this: The time we spent archiving WAO's workAttending a digital legacy workshop, run by Ian ForresterVenkatesh Rao's post Ribbonfarm ResurrectedCombined, they got me thinking. I'm not that bothered about my post-death “impact” or “legacy”, but there have been many times when I've seriously considered nuking my online content and starting afresh. Having created an archive means that, if I ever wake up one morning and decide it's time for an Act 2, my work is still online and easily accessible.
