April 2014 When I started out on this walk my focus was the mainland, but in actual fact I walked around pretty much all the islands I could get to in England and so the same is also true in Wales. That means the answer to the question of “Am I going to walk around the Isle of Anglesey?” is yes! This is therefore my first walk that takes in at least part of Anglesey. Like many trips along the North Wales coast I am doing this as a long day trip from home because I’d managed to get return tickets from my local station in Surrey to Bangor and back for only £33 in total including the tube across London. Such bargains have long since gone, but they did at least allow me to walk parts of the coast as day trips which was much more affordable than finding somewhere to stay, even if it makes for a long day. So as a result I catch an early train to London Waterloo, the tube to London Euston and then the 08:10 train from there to Chester then another train from Chester to Bangor. I was supposed…
