Or, more accurately, a tale of being afraid of ending up alone, in the Big Idea for her newest novel, Until Death. MARY BERMAN: In 2021, I met my now-husband on Hinge. On our first date, he asked, “So, are you looking for a relationship?” and I said, “No.” And he said, “Oh… so you’re just looking for someone to hook up with? I’m not really —” And I replied with something like, “God, no.
