Seven Lean Years (1961) by Celia Fremlin

I don’t think Celia Fremlin heavily leaned into titles with biblical allusions, so it is interesting that she chose to use one for today’s read. The seven lean years is often used as a reference for the time in the Genesis when Joseph foretold a period of famine (7 years long unsurprisingly) and had previously advised storing up resources during more abundant times.
